Form

Sulphuric acid solution for batteries is a diluted form of sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) used as the electrolyte in lead-acid batteries. Comes in a bottle of 1 liter.

Fit

The sulphuric acid solution is used specifically with lead-acid batteries.

This includes:

  • flooded lead-acid batteries (also known as wet-cell batteries)
  • sealed lead-acid batteries, such as: AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries or gel batteries

It is not suitable for lithium-ion, nickel-cadmium (NiCd), nickel-metal hydride (NiMH), or other modern battery types.

Function

The sulphuric acid solution serves as the electrolyte in lead-acid batteries. It enables the chemical reaction between the positive and negative lead plates, allowing the battery to store and deliver electrical energy. During charging and discharging, the concentration of the acid changes, playing a key role in the battery's performance and capacity.
