This mechanical suction pump is a replacement for the EHOEPUME1-- PUMP, SUCTION, MECHANICAL (Twin Pump) + collection bottles, which is no longer produced.
Definition
A portable assembly of devices primarily intended to be used by emergency medical services (EMS) to aspirate fluids, secretions, or other foreign materials by means of suction.
It typically consists of a manually-powered (hand or foot-operated) mechanism to drive the suction pump, tubing and a collection container. The pump creates a vacuum in the suction tubing, which is used for the removal of materials into the collection jar.

The filter on the appliance is disposable à to replace after every use, do NOT use the aspirator without a filter!
Instructions for use
- Tightly screw the lid on the jar to guarantee a perfect seal
- Connect the short tube to filter 1 on the “aspiration” 2 vent
- Connect the other end of the tube to the “vacuum” 3 vent with the float on the jar's lid
- Connect the long tube 4 to the other “patient” 5 vent on the jar's lid (vent without float)
- Connect the other end of the long tube 4 to the probe connector 6 and eventually the supplied probe
- Press the pedal 7
- The aspiration fluid will flow in the relevant jar. Should the amount of fluid exceed the jar's capacity, the overflow valve will stop aspiration.
Precautions for Use
Do not open the appliance under water
On first use, check that the appliance shows no breaks, cracks or openings caused by transportation.
It is recommended to carry out a first aspiration cycle with at least 500 ml clean water .
Maintenance
- Aspiration tubes should be sterilized after each use
- Jar cleaning: the fluid collection jar can be autoclaved at a temperature not exceeding 121°C for no more than 3 minutes. If exceeded, the jar may get damaged. The jar can also be disinfected with denatured alcohol or a hypo chlorite based solution.
- Clean the appliance with a soft cloth wetted with non-abrasive detergents.
- High level disinfection: it needs to be cleaned with a detergent, rinsed, disinfected with Chlorine (Sodium Hypochlorite 1000 ppm = 0.1% for 30 minutes) and rinsed with steriled or boiled water.
