Instructions for use

In the event of an accident with cytotoxic agents, keep calm and seek help immediately. Restrict access to the contaminated area, do not enter or cross the danger zone. Fetch the cytotoxic spill box.

  • Put on the PPE by observing the correct sequence
    • Put on the respirator.
    • Don the goggles.
    • Put on the cytostatic protective overall.
    • Don the blue protective gloves (cuff over the end of the overall sleeve).
    • Put on the overboots.
    • Pull the green protective gloves over the blue protective gloves.
  • Mark and cordon off the scene of the accident
    • Secure the scene of the accident to prevent a carryover.
    • Generously mark the scene of the accident with the pen provided and cordon off the affected area with the information sign.
    • Close windows and doors and prevent pedestrian traffic.
  • Note form of disposal and direction of cleaning
    • The cleaning direction is always from the outside to the inside.
    • Glass and sharp-edged fragments: pick up using the tongs and dispose of in the waste cardboard box.
    • Liquid contamination: spread the pad ChemoSorb over the spilled liquid (after a short time it will bind to a jelly-like mass) and pick up with the wipes. Pick up the pad and wipes with the scraper and scoop.
    • Powdered contamination: place Isysoft wipes dampered with distilled water over the spill. Pick up the wipes with the scraper and scoop and dispose of in the cardboard box.
  • Eliminate contamination in the transparent waste bag
    • Put the waste cardboard box, auxiliary and cleaning utensils into the transparent waste bag and seal with a cable tie.
    • Place the transparent waste bag in the white special waste bag.
  • Place the PPE in the white special waste bag
    • Take off the protective clothing and put it in the white special waste bag with the transparent waste bag
    • Take off the PPE in the correct order: 1. Overboots 2. Green protective gloves 3. Protective overalls 4. Blue cytostatic protective gloves 5. Safety goggles 6. Respiratory protection mask.
  • Close the white special waste bag with the cable tie.
  • The still cordoned area is finally cleaned by trained personnel according to the internal procedures.
  • Write a detailed accident report.

Storage
