TIME DELAY RELAY (ABB CT-MFE) 24-240VAC/DC, multifunct. 1c/o

Form

Multifunction electronic time relay designed for control and automation circuits requiring adjustable time delays and sequencing functions.
Contact configuration: 1 changeover contact (SPDT, 1 c/o)

  • control supply voltage: 24–240 VAC / VDC
  • supply frequency: DC or 50/60 Hz
  • timing functions: on-delay, off-delay, impulse-ON, pulse former, flasher starting with ON, flasher starting with OFF
  • number of time ranges: 8
  • time setting range: 0.05 s to 100 h
  • timing adjustment: rotary switches (time range selection and fine adjustment)
  • indication: green LED (supply voltage), red LED (output relay energized)
  • mechanical lifetime: 10 × 10⁶ operations
  • housing protection: IP50 (housing), IP20 (terminals)
  • operating temperature: −20 °C to +60 °C
  • storage temperature: −40 °C to +85 °C
  • standards compliance: IEC / EN 61812-1, LVD 2014/35/EU, EMC 2014/30/EU, RoHS 2011/65/EU
  • module width: 22.5 mm

Per piece.

Fit

Wiring scheme:

1.Power Supply (Terminals A1 - A2)

  • A1: Connect your Live (L) or Positive (+) wire here.

  • A2: Connect your Neutral (N) or Negative (-) wire here.

  • Voltage: it accepts a wide range, 24-240 V AC

2. Control Input (Terminal Y1)

This is the Trigger signal.

  • usage: for timing functions (like "Signal OFF-delay"), the timer needs to know when a switch is flipped.

  • how to wire: connect a switch between A1 and Y1.

    • Switch Closed: the timer sees the signal.

    • Switch Open: the timer starts counting (depending on the function selected).

3. The Output Switch (Terminals 15, 16, 18)

This is the actual "relay" part that turns your equipment (light, motor, alarm) on or off. It works like a toggle switch.

  • 15 (Common / C): This is the Power IN for your equipment. Connect the Live wire that you want to send to your load here.

  • 16 (Normally Closed / NC): This terminal is connected to 15 when the timer is OFF or resting.

    • Use this for: Things that should be ON by default and turn OFF when the timer activates ( a "Safe" green light).

  • 18 (Normally Open / NO): This terminal connects to 15 when the timer turns ON (activates).

    • Use this for: Things you want to turn ON after a delay (e.g., a motor or a "Warning" red light).

Function

Primary function:

  • generation of adjustable time delays and timing sequences for control and automation circuits

Functional behavior and limitations:

  • selection of timing function via front rotary switch
  • wide timing adjustment from milliseconds to hours using range and fine adjustment
  • timing triggered either by control supply voltage or external control input, depending on selected function
  • automatic reset after supply interruption
  • designed for control and signaling circuits only
  • not intended for direct switching of power loads

Typical applications:

  • automation and control panels
  • motor control and sequencing
  • lighting and ventilation timing
  • machinery start-up and shutdown delays
  • service and maintenance applications where one timer replaces multiple single-function relays
