CLOXACILLIN

Therapeutic Action

Penicillin antibacterial, active against penicillinase-producing staphylococci

Indications

Instructions for use

Cloxacillin oral suspension is replaced by the oral suspension of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, also active against streptococci and staphylococci.

For the treatment of impetigo in children, prefer cefalexin oral suspension or capsules.

Flucloxacillin is preferred to cloxacillin for the same indications due to better oral absorption.

Flucloxacillin may be used as an alternative to cloxacillin in case of supply constraints.

Storage

Below 25ºC
