First-line treatment of type-2 diabetes, when diet and lifestyle measures alone are insufficient.

Metformin is used:

Precautions for Use

Contraindicated in patients with hepatic or renal failure.

Caution must be taken in patients with B12 deficiency,

Monitor for interactions when used in combination with anti-tuberculosis medications, such as Bedaquiline and Linezolid.
