Definition

Electrical device allowing to nebulize a bronchodilator so that it can be administered as an inhalant. It delivers the medicine to the patient in a liquid phase going through the respiratory tract by creating small particles in the air to treat respiratory diseases.

The use of a nebuliser enables to deliver a medicine at higher dose compared to standard inhalers.

Technical specifications

  • Portable nebulizer operated by an electrical compressor
  • Works on mains or battery (< 10 Wh). rechargeable on cigar-lighter
  • The flow, nebulization rate and inhalation time are preadjusted.
  • Average functionning flow : 4.5 L/min
  • Functionning pressure : 1.2 bar
  • Filling volume is between 2 and 8 mL
  • MMDA : 3.8 µ - 65 % < 5 µ
  • Nebulizers, masks and mouthpieces are autoclavable at 121 °C or 134 °C according the duration of the step. Please conform to the recommendations of the sterilisation referent.
  • The tubing between nebulizer and compressor is single use and must be replaced‌ between each patient (EEMDNECA206)
  • CAUTION : if you nebulize medicines to newborn with T1 and T2 masks (not included in the basic composition), please ensure that the curved piece is present between the nebuliseur and the mask to enable the newborn to breath out.

Instructions for use

  • It is used in the treatment of acute severe asthma (ASA) in adults and children
  • It should also be used when a patient with moderate asthma exacerbations does not respond to treatment with an aerosol.
  • It is used with special solutions for nebulizations, which are nebulized during 5 to 10 minutes.

Precautions for Use

For the treatment of baby, child and dependent people, nebulizing must be realised under the continuous surveillance of a medical staff.
