Definition

A manually-operated device consisting of a platform mounted on a wheeled frame designed primarily to facilitate easy transport of a recumbent patient within a healthcare facility. It may include side rails.

The device may also be used as a treatment table (e.g. in an emergency, recovery, or labour room), or as a bed in case of very high patient numbers (e.g. disasters).

Maintenance

After each use, the metal frame and the support platform must be cleaned and disinfected with a detergent/disinfectant solution for surfaces /non-invasive medical equipment. Prepare use-solution in concentration required. Always read the label and product information before use. Do not mix the with other products. Make sure to wet surfaces completely, use a wipe or towel, keep them wet for the whole exposure time.
