Precautions for Use
- Place the BSC far from air flow (windows, doors).
- Secure all electrical devices in the laboratory with a UPS double conversion. To define the best sizing of the UPS, contact your biomedical or energy referent.
Maintenance
- Refer to user manual for cleaning procedures
- Check the UV lamp regularly with UV meter 49 or with an agar blood plate to check for viability of the microorganisms after UV exposure
- Check the anemomether level regularly in order to evaluate the need for the HEPA filter to be replaced.
- Never remove the HEPA filter yourself, always request for technical support from supplier of MSF Biomedical Department
- Before ordering the BSC, contact your biomedical referent in order to assess the availability of local/regional maintenance
MSF requirements
BSC Class II is compulsory for culture, drug susceptibility testing and identification of mycobacteria and for manipulation of bones and tissues samples and cultures.
