Packaging & Labelling

Unit packaging: cardboard box including:

  • 1 burner with instructions for use
  • 1 pressure reducing valve with instructions for use
  • 1 pipe for butane/propane gas

Instructions for use

Suitable for all the pressure cookers type autoclaves and for the 90 litres autoclave.

Preparation

  • Check the device is complete.
  • Check the gas pipe is in good condition and not expired.
  • Place the pods between the locations foreseen on the burner (120º angles between the 3 pods) and tighten the bolts.
  • Push thoroughly the gas pipe on the tap nozzle, and fasten it with a collar.
  • Insert the tap (closed) into the location foreseen on the burner's body.
  • Push thoroughly the gas pipe on the pressure reducer nozzle, and fasten it with a collar.
  • Fasten the pressure reducer on the gas bottle.
  • Check the burner tap is closed.

Precautions for Use

  • The use of gas burner can cause severe accidents: fires, burns, explosions. Provide a fire extinguisher or a sand bucket near by.
  • Always fasten securely gas bottles before transporting them to prevent any risk of explosion.
  • Before installing a pressure reducer, check that it is adapted to the gas used: 28/30 mbar for butane (the least volatile), 37 mbar for propane (the most volatile, but frost-proof), and 30 mbar for butane/propane mixture (the most widespread outside Europe).
  • Before opening the tap of the gas bottle, always check that the tap of the burner is closed.
  • Before removing the pressure reducer to replace the bottle, check its tap is completely turned off.

Maintenance

  • Regularly clean the burner with soapy water (make sure it is well dry before lighting it).
  • Regularly check the state of the gas pipe and replace it either when its expiry date is reached or in case of the slightest doubt.
  • Regularly check the absence of leaks as well as the tightening of the various elements.

MSF requirements

Suitable for all the autoclaves, including the 90 litres one which requires a 8000 W power to quickly reach 121º and limit the sterilization cycle time.

Alternative to the modified kerosene burner.
