Instructions for use

Kit supplied with detailed operator manual (a technician should be able to do the installation and to run the water treatment unit).

Train the staff in proper operation and maintenance of the unit.

Remarks

The quality of the filtered water is a lot higher in comparison with the water treated by assisted sedimentation (less coagulant residuals, less micro-biological content). The water treatment unit is therefore highly suitable for supplying drinking water to health structures (hospitals, cholera units or feeding centres…), refugee camps and communities.

The water treatment unit was originally designed to be used during the first phase of an emergency (3 to 6 months), but it has proven its reliability by functioning over several years in many missions. However, considering the operating costs and the need of supervision of the water treatment unit, other options (e.g. groundwater) should be considered for long term water supply.

Caution

The kit does not include the pump, water tank, distribution hoses or taps. These should be ordered separately according to your needs.

The unit is designed to work with the 30 m3/h petrol motor pump, (KWATKPUP30-), but functions just as well with the 60 m3/h diesel motor pump (KWATKPUP060).
