KIT, TRIPOD, with winch and safety accesories

Definition

Tripod with winch, pulley & protection accessories to allow working safely inside a well (e.g. inspection, cleaning and disinfection). The kit is specially conceived for rapid interventions (e.g. during well cleaning campaigns after floods).

Indications

Lightweight aluminium tripod, easy and rapid to instal, with a maximum foot diameter of 2.36 m, intended to help lifting people and small material in and out of wells. The tripod should not be used to instal or lift out concrete rings or other very heavy equipment.

Winch with 25 m of galvanised steel cable and an automatic blocking break, permitting to safely lift and descend a person within a well. The winch can be connected to the tripod, and has a maximum working load of 180 kg.

The bosun chair allows the person to safely and rather comfortably work within the well.

The working at heights PPE module contains all the safety equipment for 1 person descending inside the well, including fall arrest devices and a caving helmet.

Three basic PPE modules contain the protective equipment for 3 persons working at the well site.

Instructions for use

Essential for safety when descending into a well.

Train and encourage the staff to use the PPE properly. Make sure that all safety equipment is checked for wear and tear before use.

The instructions for the installation of the tripod and winch, and their maintenance after use should be followed strictly, as described in the leaflets included in the kit.

When in charge of activities inside a well, a team should consist of minimum 3 persons:

  • 1 person descending into the well
  • 1 person observing continuously the person inside the well
  • 1 or 2 persons operating the winch, ready to hoist the person rapidly out of the well in case of need

It is advised to organize a frequent rotation of the roles.
