Specifications

CLOSED ARTICLE

  • Mobile monopole 5/8 wave whip antenna
  • Frequency range: 146 - 174 MHz
  • Length: 138 cm
  • Comes in 2 models:
    • PCOMVHFA0AM5M => magnetic base
    • PCOMVHFA0AM5S => screw base

Instructions for use

NEVER transmit without an antenna.

The magnetic base model is intended for temporary installations. The magnetism is strong enough to hold the antenna in place at cruising speed on country roads.

The screw model is recommended for long-term installations.

Both models are preset to the field operation frequency, enabling immediate transmission and reception at 157 MHz, and ensuring good transmission at the most frequently used MSF frequencies (Tx 156.500 to 163.175, Rx 156.500 to 158.175 MHz). The use of other frequencies must be specified when ordering.

Keep the antenna vertical (do not angle it backwards to look "sporty" as this decreases the coverage).

Coverage will depend on environmental conditions.

  • Avoid transmitting from inside vehicles, buildings or enclosed places.
  • Place the antenna as high as possible, and as far as possible from buildings or walls.
