Form
Rigid container made of food grade HDPE or PP, rectangular shaped and self-standing. Volume 10 litre. With graduation mark indicating 10 litres. It has a threaded plastic cap and a tap. Per piece (with cap and tap).
Fit
With screw cap. Used for storage and transportation of potable water. Can also be used for chlorinating 10 litre batches of water.
Function
Used mainly for transport or storage of potable water.
Can also hold other liquids (oil, fuel, etc). In case fuel or other non- food items are stored in a jerrycan, the jerrycan must never be used for drinking water afterwards, even if it has been cleaned.
Jerrycans have a long lifespan. When used for drinking water they must be cleaned & disinfected regularly to reduce bio-film growth on their internal walls.
