DILATE SLEEVE, PVC, Ø 40mm, FxM + gasket

Form

PVC coupling, in straight shape, diameter 40 mm, with smooth male connections on one end, and a compression female connection with gasket on the other. Per piece.

Fit

To be connected to 40 mm external diameter PVC pipes or couplings on both extremities. To be glued with PVC glue on the male connection side.

Function

Used to join two PVC pipes of the same diameter.

Dilate sleeves for vertical-looking pipes (falls) are compulsory at each level, the elements of which are either blocked in the floor or maintained by a tapping. The expansion sleeve will help contain this expansion.

For one meter of PVC:

The tube stretches 0.7 mm when the temperature increases by 10 °C. The tube loses 0.7 mm when the temperature drops by 10 °C.

It is necessary to take into account the expansion in order to prevent it from damaging the networks

For horizontal pipes, a sleeve is compulsory between 2 fixed points from the first meter of pipe and at most every 8 metre.

40mm PVC is often used for grey water drainage, sinks or washing machines

  • PVC pipes can be cut with a metal saw.
  • Grind the cut with a file or sandpaper.
  • Grind with sandpaper the parts that need to be glued, on the tube and inside the sleeve.
