Therapeutic Action

Polysaccharide pneumococcal vaccine containing 23 pneumococcal serotypes

Indications

Active immunisation against pneumococcal disease in children from 2 years of age, adolescents and adults

MSF recommends its use in people with functional or surgical asplenia and HIV seropositive children and adults.

Instructions for use

Suspension in a liquid form

0.5 ml single-dose to be given by IM or SC route.

To be administered to people with asplenia and people HIV seropositive, in addition to the PCV vaccine. Consult your medical department.

Precautions for Use

As with all injectable vaccines and/or immunoglobulins, appropriate medical treatment should always be readily available in case of rare anaphylactic reactions following the administration of the product.

Storage

  • Keep refrigerated between 2ºC and 8ºC
  • Do not freeze.
