Indications

Treatment of snakebite envenomations from 22 African species found in sub-Saharan Africa, including:

  • West African carpet viper (Echis ocellatus)
  • Puff adder (Bitis‌ arietans)
  • Black-necked spitting cobra (Naja nigricollis)
  • Black mamba (Dendroaspis polylepis)

Instructions for use

10 ml vial in liquid form

Must be given as IM injection or IV infusion in 500 ml (200 ml in children) of 0.9% NaCl.

For posology, refer to MSF Snakebite Antivenom Algorithm or contact your NTD advisor.

During administration, monitor the patient closely to detect any adverse reactions.

Precautions for Use

Appropriate medical treatment should always be immediately accessible in the event of an anaphylactic reactions after the administration of the product.

Check the product packaging and manufacturer's leaflet to identify the species covered.

Storage

  • Keep refrigerated between 2ºC and 8ºC.
  • Do not freeze.
  • After opening, use the product immediately.
