Function
Water hardness is caused by the presence of calcium and magnesium salts.
High levels of hardness prevent the formation of lather with soap, and can cause scaling in water systems. Hardness is an important control test in a wide variety of applications.
For measuring total hardness levels over the range 0-500mg/l CaCO3
Reagents are supplied as two tablets. The test is done by adding one tablet of each type to a water sample.
