BUCKET Oxfam standard (NRS Jerry Bucket) 14l
Form
14 liters bucket with a tap and a lid.
Made of HDPE high density polyethylene (body of the bucket, lid and cap) and virgin LDPE low density polyethylene (handle).
It is stackable with the lid and tap taken off.
Per set of bucket + tap + lid.
Function
Used for drinking water transportation and storage.
Designed by Oxfam for first phase emergency situations but ideal for any water-carrying operation.
The lid is tightly fitted and stays on the bucket body through an improved rim lock design, ensuring that the container is only used for drinking water rather than washing clothes, feeding livestock, etc.
A clip-on cap that hygienically seals the bucket is attached to the lid, so that people do not need to improvise caps if the original lid is lost. The large 100 mm hole minimises spillage when filling from a hand pump, and allows easy cleaning.
The tap means water can be safely distributed without putting dirty receptacles into the water.
The curved edges at the base prevents dirt and bacteria accumulation.
When unloaded in the field, lids should be snapped on before distribution and beneficiaries should be encouraged not to remove them.
The Jerry Bucket's stackable feature allows easy distribution in large numbers, which significantly reduces freight costs.
It is smooth and spike-free on the base so that people can comfortably carry it on their heads.
