Instructions for use

Xylocaine 10mg Spray®

Non-sterile solution for topical spraying delivered in a pump spray fitted with a non-sterile single use plastic spray nozzle approximately 120 mm long for single-patient.

Remove the protective cap from the plastic nozzle and fix the nozzle on the valve. Each activation of the metering valve delivers 10 mg of lidocaine. The number of sprays depends on the size of the area to be anaesthetised.

The 10% lidocaine spray induces a rapid, deep anaesthesia of the mucous membranes lasting approximately 10-15 minutes. Anaesthesia appears within 1-3 minutes, depending on the surface area applied.

The bottle is supplied with a single use nozzle. Do not forget to order separately additional individual nozzles, specific to Xylocaine 10mg Spray® (SDDCNOZZ120).

Precautions for Use

Avoid contact with eyes. In the event of accidental spraying, rinse eyes immediately with plenty of water.

Do not spray on the cuff of the endotracheal tube (risk of causing small holes that could lead to leaks and loss of pressure in the cuff).

Do not share the nozzles between patients or reuse by individual patients (risk of cross contamination).

This product is non-sterile and therefore not recommended for use prior to procedures that require aseptic techniques.

Do not use to lubricate urinary catheters (use sterile water-based lubricant or sterile water) or gastric tubes (use drinking water) prior insertion.
