Fit

Requires a digital storage card (SD card) to store digital images (not included). Should be connected with an AC adapter to the grid to charge the battery.

Function

Used to take pictures and save them in digital format. Should be compatible with the standard full colour photo printer.

To be used in various MSF settings where pictures could be helpful. Could be used for example in medical wards, to take pictures of wounds etc. An MSF camera and printer will avoid staff to take and keep pictures of patients on their own personal devices, which should be avoided. Advantages include:

  • patient data privacy
  • stops staff taking photos on personal phones
  • helps to record wounds for management

Choose a well known brand and select the model on the market with the biggest wide angle capabilities, as very often being too close to the subject is a bigger problem than being too far.

It would be fine to wipe the camera with a disinfectant clothe and routine disinfection if it is kept in a patient area.
