Form

Rapid test for detecting E.coli and Total Coliforms in water in remote and difficult to access sites. It comes with a set of reagents and containers (plastic bags) that in a minimum of 24 hr can check not only the presence/abcense of E.Coli, but also the Mos Probable Number (MPN) of E.coli colonies in the water.

This kit contains

  • 50 Aquagenx powder growth medium packs
  • 50 100-mL Stand-Up Whirl-Pak Thio-Bags
  • 50 Aquagenx Compartment Bags
  • 2 reusable clips to seal compartment bag shut. Extra clips sold separately.

Fit

This rapid test kit, can be compared to the old 'El Kit del Agua' however, this kit does not require an incubator, nor the access to electricity to perform the testings.

    Function

    The test is used to obtain the Most Probable Number of colonies of E.coli in water.

    The following are the specificities of this test:

    • No electricity, lab, cold chain or expensive, complicated equipment required
    • Easy to use for field level testing in low resource, rural, disaster/emergency areas
    • Test for E. coli only, or Total Coliforms, or both. Total Coliforms testing is optional.
    • Ambient temperature incubation at 25° Celsius and above
    • Ambient temperature test results in 20-48 hours
    • Works at variable temperatures, constant temperature control not required
    • Color change test results are easy to interpret
    • Compact and lightweight, small number of consumables
    • Meets World Health Organization Guidelines for Drinking Water Quality
    • MPN Kits used to test surface waters and wastewater with Dilutions
