(kit pump Grundfos SQF5A-7) PUMP + ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT

In this module we add the submersible Grundfos SQF 5A-7 pump and all the cabling to be attached to the solar modules. There are also controlers to make it useful as a hybrid system or automatize the system with floters.

Grundfos SQF 5A-7 – is a 4” diameter pump. It is fitted with an MSF 3 permanent magnet motor with an inbuilt electronic unit that converts incoming DC power to AC power. The pump is flexible as regards of power supply, so you can directly branch DC or AC power. The motor also features a built-in dry-run sensor electrode that automatically shuts the motor down if the water level drops below the sensor. The pump is fitted to a non-return valve on its outlet to prevent water from flowing back into the pump when switched off.

A simple IO 101 control unit allows for switching on/off, monitoring pump status as well as connection of a back-up AC single phase power supply. This pump is suitable for clean water, chemically non aggressive liquids without solids and fibres. So, if a surface water application is forecast, a proper strainer should be fitted to the pump, as showed in the documents annexed (contact your technical referent). The life time of the pump might decrease given the wear down due to sediments.

There is the option (recommended) to add the CU200 float device to facilitate the automatization of the pump.

Hybrid Operations

The Pump system can be powered by an alternative AC power source. The Grundfos SQFlex connected to the IO 101 control box allows to connect a generator and switch from one AC to DC automatically. The switch to generator power is made when the internal circuit of the IO 101 senses the incoming power from the generator. And when the generator stops, the IO 101 automatically switches back to solar power, as showed in the diagram above. Optionally, the system can include a CU 200 to automatize the on/off of the pump using a float, which can also be purchased with the kit.
