UPS double conversion (Delta Ultron EH) 20kVA, 3ph/1ph

Definition

A double conversion uninterruptible power supply (UPS) guarantees a perfect AC supply and is especially suitable for vulnerable and/or expensive equipment such as medical and laboratory equipment.

There is no connection between the incoming power and the outgoing power; all possible electrical problems such as voltage spikes are eliminated.

To function it needs a battery pack, which is included in this article. The autonomy of the "extended" (EXT) version can be increased by placing more battery packs in parallel.

Specifications

  • Input voltage range 100 - 300 V (note that between 100 V and 180 V input voltage, the output power is reduced by 50 - 100%; full power is available only at 180V AC and above). At higher (>300 V) or lower (<100 V) voltages the UPS switches to battery power
  • Input and output frequency 50 or 60 Hz
  • Power factor >0.99
  • Efficiency (full load) >92%
  • Battery cabinet: 20 x 9 Ah, 12 V batteries in one cabinet; energy content approximately 2 kWh.
  • Multiple outputs allow for support of only critical loads.

Instructions for use

This UPS is primarily intended to protect the equipment connected to it. It also provides back-up power but it is limited with only one battery pack. Additional battery pack can be added to give a longer back-up time but the charger is integral and cannot be changed.

The high output power makes it suitable for almost any laboratory or medical facility. The UPS is delivered without a power cord and needs to be wired with an appropriate cable. For more details and advice: contact your logistics department.

Greater inverter power and charging capacity is possible by placing multiple units in parallel.

MSF requirements

The chosen model enables input voltages of 100 – 300 V to be converted to 230 V; the input is compatible with 50 or 60 Hz; the output can be programmed to the local frequency if need be.
