The IEHK 2024 is composed of 10 BASIC MODULES (for 1,000 people each) and 1 SUPPLEMENTARY MODULE (for 10,000 people).

BASIC MODULE

The basic module is intended for use at primary health care level (or outpatient services) by health care workers with limited training. It contains oral and topical medicines, essential medical devices and simple treatment guidelines which are based on symptoms. In addition to the basic unit (= unit KMEDMBAS05A), there is an malaria unit (= unit KMEDMBAS05M) which is optional and must be ordered separately if needed.

The basic module is divided into 3 units to be ordered separately:

• KMEDMBAS05A = 1 basic unit containing medicines and renewable supplies
• KMEDMBAS05E = 1 basic unit containing equipment and stationary
• KMEDMBAS05M = 1 optional basic unit containing malaria rapid tests and antimalarial medicines.

SUPPLEMENTARY MODULE

The supplementary module is intended for use at hospital level (or larger health centres with specialised services) by physicians, nurses and other health workers with specialised training.

It comprises medicines (oral and injectable) and other medical supplies. It should only be used together with one or more basic modules.

The supplementary module must be completed by the optional units, which must be ordered separately.

The supplementary module is divided into 15 units:

• MEDMSUP05A = 1 supplementary unit with oral medicines
• KMEDMSUP05AA = 1 supplementary unit with injectable medicines
• KMEDMSUP05H = 1 supplementary unit with mental health medicines
• KMEDMSUP05C = 1 supplementary unit with controlled medicines
• KMEDMSUP05B = 1 supplementary unit with cold chain medicines
• KMEDMSUP05D = 1 supplementary unit with items requiring regulated transport and packaging
• KMEDMSUP05E = 1 supplementary unit with equipment
• KMEDMSUP05S = 1 supplementary unit with renewable supplies
• KMEDMSUP05G = 1 supplementary unit with glucometer control solutions
• KMEDMSUP05GD = 1 supplementary unit with glucometers requiring regulated transport and packaging
• KMEDMSUP05L = 1 supplementary documentation unit
• KMEDMSUP05M = 1 optional supplementary unit with injectable antimalarial medicines and supplies.
• KMEDMSUP05P = 1 optional supplementary unit with post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) treatment.
• KMEDMSUP05N = 1 optional supplementary unit with NCD supplies
• KMEDMSUP05NB = 1 optional supplementary unit with NCD medicines (insulins) requiring cold chain.
