POSTER, ADMINISTRATION OF INJ. ARTESUNATE + ARGININE
Definition
A step-by-step poster for health professional preparing and administering artesunate with arginine injections.
The WHO recommends parenteral artesunate over quinine and artemether for the treatment of severe P. falciparum malaria in adults and children. Intravenous (IV) injection is the preferred route of administration, although intramuscular (IM) injection is also possible.
To ensure that healthcare providers fully understand how to safely and correctly prepare and administer artesunate injection with arginine, these training materials were developed by WHO to illustrate the different steps and facilitate the proper use of the new formulation of artesunate.
