Therapeutic Action

Natural, inorganic chemical compound with antimicrobial properties

Cauterizing agent as an applicator stick (silver nitrate sticks or caustic pencils) activated by contact with moisture. When applied to wounds, silver nitrate pencil delivers free silver ions to the tissue that form an eschar as they bind to tissue and obstruct vessels.

Indications

Mainly indicated in case of hypertrophic scar, particularly for umbilical cords.

Instructions for use

The MSF standard is 40% dosage, to prevent burns when used in infants.
