Indications
Due to its adverse effects (increased mortality and tachyarrhythmia), dopamine should be gradually replaced by norepinephrine.
Norepinephrine (noradrenaline) remains the vasopressor of choice for cardiogenic and septic shocks.

Instructions for use
Continuous-flow administration of dopamine requires:
- close medical supervision in hospital setting.
- use of a dedicated venous line (no other infusions/injections in this line).
- use of a syringe or infusion pump.
- gradual increase and adaptation of doses according to clinical response.
- intensive monitoring of administration, particularly when replacing syringes.
