VACCINE TT (tetanus)

TT vaccine became non-standard following the replacement of TT by Td at the global level (WHO/UNICEF) and the discontinuation of the product by a number of manufacturers. Only a few countries (non-Gavi) still use it but its use will be discontinued in the coming years.

Please always consider the MSF STD (Td vaccine) before ordering a NST.

CAUTION

This multidose vaccine is worded and codified by unit (= 1 dose) to make the order easier.

Therapeutic Action

Adsorbed vaccine containing purified tetanus toxoid

Indications

Prevention of tetanus

Countries are gradually replacing the monovalent vaccine (TT) with the Tetanus-diphtheria (Td) vaccine. The choice between TT and Td vaccine will depend on which vaccine is introduced and registered in the country where it will be used.

Use preferably the conjugate Tetanus-diphtheria (Td) vaccine for the prevention of tetanus in children over 7 years of age, adolescents and adults (incl. pregnant women).
