Definition
Non-sterile syringe intended for the administration of oral medicines or liquids in oral form.
The tip is designed to fit enteral administration devices only and is incompatible with Luer connections or intravenous devices.
The barrel is coloured to distinguish it from other syringes intended for the connection of infusion or injection devices.

Oral syringes have a specific (non-Luer) tip that makes it impossible to connect with a hypodermic needle, thus avoiding accidental injection of oral medicines.
