Intraosseous infusion is used in emergency care when peripheral vascular acces is difficult, impossible or uneffective; especially for patients for whom immediate vascular access is lifesaving (e.g. patients with shock, severe dehydration, burns or cardiac / respiratory arrest)

Precautions for Use
- Do not immerse the apparatus when performing cleaning and disinfecting.
Maintenance
- The exterior surface of the drill can be cleaned and disinfected with a detergent/disinfectant for surfaces/non-invasive medical equipment. Prepare use-solution in concentration required. Always read the label and product information before use. Do not mix with other products. Make sure to wet the surface completely, use a wipe or towel, keep it wet for the whole exposure time.
- Clean and disinfect also the trigger of the apparatus with the same detergent-disinfectant solution.
- Using swabs, moistened with the detergent-disinfectant solution, gently clean the inside opening around the metal drive shaft.
- After cleaning, inspect to ensure no visible debris remains, and no damage has occurred.
- Dry the driver with a soft, clean cloth and store protected from humidity and dust (use the transport bag).
