Form
Brass valve with a handle to open or close in ¼ turn. With one end 1/2", female threaded and the other 1/2" male threaded. Handle is usually in red. Per piece.
Fit
Fits to another 1/2 inch threaded male part on one end and a 1/2" threaded female part on the other.
To ensure a leakage-free assembly on the male thread the use of threading fibres or teflon tape is required.
Function
Ball valves are often used to open and close a line. Gate valves are more adapted to regulate the flow.
