Anhydrous glucose in powder used to perform the Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT).
Specifications
Each sachet of OGTT contains 75g of anhydrous glucose, which is the recommended adult dose for glucose tolerance testing according to the WHO guidelines.
Instructions for use
Dissolve one 75 g powder pouch in 200-300 ml of warm or room temperature water while stirring continuously with a spoon or spatula.
After an initial fasting blood sugar test, the patient ingests a dose of pure anhydrous glucose, followed by blood tests conducted every 30 minutes for 2 to 3 hours to monitor the blood sugar level. If the blood sugar level does not fall, diabetes is diagnosed.
The test is usually performed in a laboratory setting.
