Therapeutic Action

Angiiotensin II receptor antagonist

Indications

Essential hypertension in adults when amlodipine is not tolerated with the fixed-dose combination of telmisartan/amlodipine.

Instructions for use

The usual effective dose is 40 mg once daily. In cases where blood pressure is not controlled at the usual dosage, the dose of telmisartan may be increased to a maximum of 80 mg once daily.

Closely monitor the blood pressure.

Precautions for Use

Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Administer with caution to patients with cholestasis, biliary obstructive disorders or hepatic impairment, renal artery stenosis, aortic or mitral stenosis, or obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HOCM).
