Indications
Equipment for two teams to conduct a nutritional survey in children under 5 years of age.
Also provides equipment to weigh and measure children in an inpatient and outpatient nutrition programmes (ITFC and ATFC).
Specifications
Kit for nutritional survey and continuous nutritional assessment (daily weight, etc.) of children in therapeutic or outpatient feeding centres, or during dry rations distribution.
- Additional measuring apparatus and electronic scales can be ordered, depending on the number of teams conducting the nutritional survey.
- The Salter scales should be replaced by the more accurate and practical mother/child scale (EANTSCAL4--) (included in the kit).
- The Salter scales should be calibrated with known weight of more than 5 kg (daily during a survey and regularly in a nutrition centre). The weight can be made locally with a stone or a container filled with water/stones.
- To carry out a survey, the questionnaire and data collection forms must be adapted to the context, discuss this with your nutrition advisor.
- The equipment (measuring apparatus and scales) for anthropometric measurements in adults or adolescents (in a survey or in a nutrition centre) should be ordered separately (see related articles).
- NB: The MUAC bracelets (EANTBRAB115B) may be used for the identification of malnourished adults.
